In response to community needs for affordable and available housing, the Town of Drayton valley purchased lands suitable for a residential housing development. The Town was very interested in incorporating sustainable elements into this new development and therefore hired Revolve Engineering Inc. to create a Sustainable Housing Plan. The Sustainable Housing Plan is based on the site conceptual plan developed by Select Engineering and will serve as the basis for this and future developments in Drayton Valley. The Sustainable Housing Plan explored a wide range of sustainable initiatives including all feasible options which relate to energy efficiency, sustainable landscaping, and sustainable construction.
In close collaboration with our green partners, Revolve Engineering made recommendations on the most cost effective and 'optimal' technologies, highlighting three possible levels of sustainability (including a net zero energy scenario) which covered all aspects of green building design and construction.
