Building on the momentum and lessons learned from the Mosaic Centre, the Haskayne Legacy Park is a 1350 m2 City of Calgary park pavilion building which is targeting net zero energy and will be home to educational classes, large gatherings and a small permanent office staff. Its low profile and relatively low loads make it an ideal candidate for Net Zero. There are some unique challenges however, including the large fresh air ventilation loads due to the very high intermittent occupancies. Revolve is providing net zero consulting, energy modelling and geothermal system design services to the City of Calgary on this ongoing project which will hopefully become Calgary’s first net zero building. The project is now in design development.
Update (April 2017): Because of budgetary cuts, the size of the project has been reduced but the Net Zero target is still in place! Look for updates.
