Revolve worked with Habitat Studio to help design a 16 unit townhome building which is designed to reach net zero. On the same site is a small church and daycare which is also part of the overall net zero design. The design features distributed water-to-air heat pumps, individual heat recovery units, as well as a 33 borehole geothermal system which handles all of the building’s heating and cooling loads as well as a majority of the domestic hot water loads. The geothermal systems acts almost like a shared "community" geothermal field and helps reduce the size of the Solar PV system significantly; the project would not have enough room for PV to reach Net Zero otherwise.
The project is currently under construction (April 2017).
